1965 Fender Jazz Bass *SOLD*
This is a very special instrument. Bought by a New Hampshire resident during his Army service in the late 1960's and kept literally "under the bed" for the past 40 years, this J-Bass is in nearly-new condition!
Appraised in 2008 by renowned vintage guitar expert George Gruhn of Gruhn Guitars (see letter in the photo gallery.) He wrote: "This is not perfect, but for 40 years, about as perfect as any specimen I have seen.
The serial number of the bass and the numbers on the pots indicate that this is from mid to late 1965. The Gruhn letter continues... "It conforms to the typical specifications of the model for the period in which it was made, with three-tone sunburst body finish, maple neck with curved rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays, "transition logo" peghead decal, and typical Jazz Bass electronics, hardware and ornamentation. It is very unusual to find a Jazz Bass of this age in such pristine condition."
Comes with the original case (in very good condition), hang tag and Fender booklet. Has the pickup and "F" bridge covers.
